Well, I really have been neglecting this poor gardening blog over the past 4 months and ought to have my but kicked for it... LOL!!!!
This morning I harvested a big batch of cucumbers, black and green zucchini, golden nugget zucchini and green squash...

I have loads more green zucchinis on their way.....

The first of my pumpkins have started to grow fruit....

And the purple beans that I thought were on their last legs have found a new lease on life after our recent inch of rain and have new shoots and flowers everywhere...

I can definitely report that this December has been much more productive than last year as most of my garden had died off from the heat by this time last year.... The extra mulch really must be working a treat to retain moisture....
Take Care..... Jodie... :)

I wish I could water my garden on river water, even with the cotton farmers interfering with it, it still grows better than town water!!The Mt Monger has a beautiful vegie garden and they beat us with the first Tomotoes
I love how red the dirt is, reminds me of Toowoomba. Look at all your lovely plants!
I didn't realize there was a darling downs in NSW as well! Very un-Australian of me? :)
Jodie, do you have any tips for starting a home veggie patch. The girls and I are keen, but I am not really sure where to start. We have only ever grown cherry tomatoes and some herbs in pots but we are ready now to start something more substantial in the ground. I am really impressed with direction you have taken.
I'd be keen to find out more on starting a home veggie patch as well. (came to this site via the big G searching info on setting up a veggie patch).
Thanks
Your produce from your garden looks good enough to eat LOL...here in Ohio it is winter, brrrrrr!
Man! I'm SO jealous. I live in upstate New York. My garden is covered over by 2 feet of snow at the moment. Your garden produce looks so fresh and vibrant. It started me dreaming of my own garden this spring - I can't wait.
that's a healthy looking harvest...I'm curious...are you guys on bore water? and do you cover your vegie plants during the really hot days with shadecloth? I'm finding that plants really suffer with heat stress out this way..it would be wonderful to have homegrown vegies, all year round..
